Shelf we get to know Adriana Garcia from She's Got Books On Her Mind

1- If you knew you were getting amnesia and you could leave yourself a note to re-read just one book or series which one would it be?
You know the problem with that is deciding if I can choose a great enough series over just one book. I’m thinking series would make the most sense right? More books to enjoy but what if they aren’t good enough? I mean I love the Percy Jackson books but when I read them a second time I feel like it isn’t as funny as the first time. I would be clinging on to these books that give me a piece of myself I can’t remember so I would be reading them again and again looking for a hidden meaning or something. It has to be readable over and over again. I would like to say The Hunger Games Trilogy but I’m also leaning toward one of my top favorite books: A Week in the Woods by Andrew Clements. I think I will pick A Week in the Woods because if I were to look for a hidden meaning in there I would see how much I would want nature and hiking and all that fun stuff to be a part of my new life. (I feel like I overthought that.)
2- What has been the review that you've had the most fun writing?
I’ve got to say that the most recent review I’ve written that I absolutely loved writing is How Not to Be Popular by Jennifer Ziegler. It is another one of my favorite books that has a sad side to it if you really think about it but it’s mostly about being true to yourself. It has my favorite fictional boyfriend in there so that’s a plus. I loved thinking about him again as well as the main character, Maggie. Remembering all the outlandish clothes Maggie would come up with was another fun part of writing the review. This is one of those books that I want to tell everyone about so it was even more of a joy writing and sharing this book with everyone than most books I’ve reviewed.
3- Tell us a little bit about your book crush, literary significant other or however you wish to call it ;)
I guess we are getting back to my favorite fictional boyfriend. Jack. How I melt whenever I think about him. He’s a goody-two-shoes but I love that about him. I would like to think that other girl’s and me that like some bad boys in books really want a gentleman in their lives. That’s how I see Jack. He’s the fictional person I want to be real the most. If he was a reader I would just die.
4- Tell us what in your opinion sets your blog apart from the others
Aw! I think all blogs have their own thing going on even if they review the same things. Every blogger contributes to the world of books and knowledge about those books. Saying that - I like reading and reviewing anything that piques my interest. So I’ll be more eclectic with my reading. I will review Adult, YA, Middle Grade, and Children’s books. Sometimes I just get in a type of mood with one of the genres so it looks like I review only one age group of book but then I’ll switch it up when I find a great book that is targeted to a different age group. I’ll also review any genre that I can get into. It all depends on what I get to discover on other blogs and Goodreads.
5- Can you tell us a little about your blog schedule? What can we expect to see in your blog during the week.
Every week I do one meme post: “It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?” so I can recap what’s been going on with me reading wise and maybe about my personal life. It’s a nice way to tell what’s going on and what books I’ve been able to find from other sources. I’ll have around three or four reviews most of the time. I’m also trying to incorporate just fun posts that have to do with themes of books I’ve read. There will be around two of those if I can help it.
6- Do you eat when you read? if so tell us a little about what snacks you like to have.
I don’t usually eat and read except when I cannot put a book down. I’ll eat meals while reading if I have to. With the Harry Potter series this was a must. If I were to imagine my perfect snack I would have to say… cake! Strawberry cake and a book? Paradise.
7- Tell us about the most random character you have ever read. Did you love the character or hated it?
Hmm… the first person that pops into my head is Critter from Jump by Elisa Carbone. He escaped from a mental institution and catches a ride on an adventure with a girl named P.K. He’s pretty much fearless. He sees auras/moods. He’s really different but I enjoyed that about him. He’s not your run-of-the-mill character. The book is about rock climbing so the book in itself is very different in a good way.
8- Favorite and least favorite thing about blogging
My favorite thing about blogging has to be interacting with other bloggers. I love reading and writing reviews but it wouldn’t be as fun if I didn’t have others with the same interests to talk about the books I’ve read or books I’ve yet to discover.
9- Most emotional or passionate review.
That’s going to have to go to How Not to Be Popular again. It’s a review where I felt the most passionate about the characters. Maggie is such a down to earth and relatable character and Jack is a sweetheart. Even the minor characters were described really well. The plot of course is pretty dear to my heart. I mean this book showcases outcasts and describes them in such a way where they are the real cool crowd. I love that. Link on question #2

10- Have you ever met any of your favorite authors? If so, could you please share your experience.
Unfortunately not. One of my favorite authors, Robert Cormier, passed away years ago before I even got to read one of his books. He’s the genius that created The Chocolate War, I am the Cheese, and We All Fall Down. If I could get to meet any author it would have to be Rick Riordan. I need to know what he plans for the Norse God series and how he came up with the awesomeness that is Percy Jackson.
Thanks for the interview! It was fun (:

Shelf we get to know PammyPam from the Unconventional Librarian

1- If you knew you were getting amnesia and you could leave yourself a note to re-read just one book or series which one would it be?
I would probably want to reread the Chronicles of Narnia.  Maybe this time I’d actually finish it.
2- What has been the review that you've had the most fun writing?
By far the review I’ve had the most fun writing has to be for Freshman Year and Other Unnatural Disasters.  The book is a fun YA read and the author is a hoot and we actually had the chance to meet up in NYC live and in person.  Here’s the link:
3- Tell us a little bit about your book crush, literary significant other or however you wish to call it ;)
If you know anything about me you know I love John Green. I know lots of people love him but I’m not shy about sharing the love.  We met at Book Expo America (BEA) and I tell everyone with ears that he’s my boyfriend.  That and a snap of the two of us together endears me to anyone under 18.
4- Tell us what in your opinion sets your blog apart from the others
My blog is different from others because I’m not afraid to be silly. I also try to be serious when I have to be, especially when I’m looking for diversity in kids’ books: where are the African American characters, the Asian, disabled, GLBT, etc? These kids want to read books with characters like themselves.
5- Can you tell us a little about your blog schedule? What can we expect to see in your blog during the week.
I read and write my reviews based on a random algorithm developed by Stephen Hawking.   It’s top secret.  Up until now I’ve read books of all kinds but now I will only focus on books for kids through YA, so, there’s that.
6- Do you eat when you read? if so tell us a little about what snacks you like to have.
Drinking is synonymous with reading. Drinking coffee, that is.  I am rarely far from a cuppa joe when I’m reading.
7- Tell us about the most random character you have ever read. Did you love the character or hated it?
I met a character in a paranormal romance who was a lesbian. I don’t quite get the whole paranormal phenomenon so I spent a lot of time rereading each sentence.  I have nothing against lesbians, I just didn’t know how that bit tied in with the story.  Almost like it was thrown in as an extra exciting bit.  If it doesn’t help drive the story, it becomes superfluous to me.
8- Favorite and least favorite thing about blogging
Favorite? Sharing my love of books! Least favorite? The never ending pile of books marked TBR or books that I will never get to read because, well, I hafta work and eat and live.
9- Most emotional or passionate review.
The most passionate review I can remember is my review of Skinny by Donna Cooner.  The story is about a morbidly obese teenage girl who has a voice speaking to her, named Skinny who constantly tells her she will fail at everything she tries.  This theme is so relevant to what teens experience today and I wish more girls (and guys) were exposed to the book.  I even attended a conference call with the author which was a moving event.  Here’ s the link:
10- Have you ever met any of your favorite authors? If so, could you please share your experience.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many authors: John Green (Fault in Our Stars), Doreen Cronin (Click, Clack, Moo), Avi (The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle), Patricia MacLachlan (Sarah Plain and Tall), to name just a few.

Shelf we get to know Helen from The Fiction Conniption

1-      If you knew you were getting amnesia and you could leave yourself a note to re-read just one book or series which one would it be?
Oh my gosh, that’s such a cool question. And so hard to answer. I think if I had the chance to get amnesia and experience another book for the first time, I would want it to be Splintered by A.G. Howard.

2-     What has been the review that you've had the most fun writing?

I think I had the most fun writing my review of Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout, mainly just because it was a book that I had so very much expected not to enjoy, and instead ended up totally joining the band wagon for that series instantly!
3-     Tell us a little bit about your book crush, literary significant other or however you wish to call it ;)

Haha! I’m quite happily married, so I’m not sure I’m totally allowed to answer this XD. That said, as far as current book crushes go, I’d probably have to go with Garrick from Losing It or Maxon from The Selection.

4-    Tell us what in your opinion sets your blog apart from the others

I think the only true thing that sets any book blog apart from others are the opinions of the blogger. The way that they deliver their opinions and the passion that they can convey for books they love.

5-     What made you start your blog?

I’ve always been a very avid reader, but I haven’t had many friends around who shared the strange obsession I have with all things bookish – so when I realized that there was this huge community of people who did nothing but talk books with each other, I had to start a blog too and get in on that!

6-    Do you eat when you read? If so tell us a little about what snacks you like to have.

I don’t eat much when I read, I can’t stand crumbs and stuff ending up in my books, or smudges getting on my ipad screen, haha.

7-     Tell us about the most random character you have ever read. Did you love the character or hated it?

Hm. I just read Paranormalcy by Kiersten White. The main character Evie has a best friend who is a mermaid, but she lives in some sort of tank and just kind of glides around somehow from within it – that was definitely the most random character I’ve read in a while. I didn’t exactly hate her, but I didn’t love her either.

8-     Please tell us in your opinion what sets a book club reading experience apart:

I’m not personally part of a formal book club right now, but what I really love to see in a book club are people who have a passion for reading, and are expressive about their thoughts surrounding a book.

9-    Most emotional or passionate review.

For me, that would be my review of Sisterhood Everlasting by Ann Brashares – that book impacted me so deeply, and had me crying constantly!
10- Have you ever met any of your favorite authors? If so, could you please share your experience?

I’ve never gotten the chance to meet any authors, but this May I’m attending my first big book event called Teen Day in Kansas City, and there will be some awesome young adult authors there doing signings so I AM SO EXCITED! :D

Shelf we get to know Sadaf H. from The Life and Times of Me

If you knew you were getting amnesia and you could leave yourself a note to re-read just one book or series which one would it be?
"The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch. This book chronicles Randy's last days on earth before he died from terminal cancer. What I found astounding was that Randy knew he was dying the whole time. I found it so inspiring that Randy was able to live before he died. This is my unofficial manual on how to make the best of a bad situation.
What has been the review that you've had the most fun writing?
My first book review I ever wrote was the most enjoyable. I reviewed "The Wizard Heir" by Cinda Williams Chima. After doing a bit of research, I connected with Mrs. Chima through facebook (and later through Twitter). She is a very down to earth author who stays connected with her fans, and even replies to your messages, facebook posts, etc! I found it so humbling that such a successful author takes time out of her day to (personally) connect with her readers. I shared my book review with her and she thoroughly enjoyed it. I was ecstatic to say the least!
Tell us a little bit about your book crush, literary significant other or however you wish to call it ;)
As mentioned in my Wizard Heir review, I developed a bit of a literary crush on Seph McCauley. He is described in the book as very small, skinny and unattractive. However, it was his courage that I was attracted to. Despite his small body frame, he was able to fend for himself when he needed to.
Tell us what in your opinion sets your blog apart from the others
Most of the blogs I follow have weekly schedules. (ie, Book reviews on Mondays, book trailers on Tuesdays and so on). I love this format because it gives us blog follower something to look forward to every day of the week. However, my blog does not have such a schedule. For me, I am the type of person who is unable to write just for the sake of writing. I can only write when I have something to say. I feel if I were to write on my blog daily, my posts would be of low quality. I would rather write a good quality piece every now and then, as opposed to writing low quality posts every day.
What made you start your blog?
I love writing, and English has always been my favorite subject in school. I remember many of my fellow classmates would cringe when we had to do essay writing, but I really enjoyed them. Since I'm not in school anymore (and don't do as much essay writing as I did once upon a time), I decided to start a blog as a medium to write. It allows me to do something I love and at the same time, practice (and improve) my writing skills.
Do you eat when you read? If so tell us a little about what snacks you like to have.
I have a passion for both literary and culinary arts. However, if I were to eat while reading, it'll almost feel like I'm insulting both arts. I'm not good at multitasking, so I prefer to put my full focus on one or the other. On the contrary, I do sometimes have a cup of coffee or tea before I sit down to read a book.
Tell us about the most random character you have ever read. Did you love the character or hated it?
Grover from the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series. Being a satyr, he is described with both human and goat qualities, which I found really amusing. I wouldn't say I hated the character, I just felt like I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I had read the books as a kid. I read them in my twenties. I found the books both enjoyable and childish.
You mentioned you are part of a book club; please tell us in your opinion what sets a book club reading experience apart:
I was originally part of two book clubs, but I recently dropped one of them. The local library book club mostly consisted of older women, aside from me and the coordinator. Then a couple of years later, my girlfriends and I decided to start a book club of our own. Both book clubs were enjoyable in very different ways. The library one gave me the opportunity to meet new women from very different backgrounds who had very different opinions about each book. On the other hand, the book club with my friends is a lot more casual in comparison. As much as I absolutely loved going to the library book club, I decided to leave it (which was a hard decision to make). I was feeling really overwhelmed, and it felt like every time I picked up a book, it was always for book club. I hardly ever had time to read the books I wanted to read anymore. It was starting to take the fun out of reading for me.
A lovely thing about book clubs is that they introduce you to books you normally wouldn't pick up on your own. Most people don't like to step out of their comfort zone, and book clubs open you up to new book experiences. I ended up falling in love with so many books I would have never expected to. In that respect, I feel like book club is a nice experience. You may be surprised at how much you enjoy a book you never thought you'd read!
Most emotional or passionate review.
My most passionate review is actually not a book review, and it is on my other (personal) blog. One of my favorite TV shows is/was BBC's Merlin. It ran for five seasons and just recently ended. I was so disappointed by the series finale, I did a rant/review about it. I would like to warn you in advance, it is full of major episode spoilers.
Have you ever met any of your favorite authors?
Two of my favorites authors (Nicholas Sparks and Cinda Williams Chima) recently came to my hometown, but I did not meet either of them! =(. However, our city holds an anual book festival called Word on The Street which hosts Canadian up and coming authors. I've gone to this festival twice, and have met a few authors. I even bought a book from one and got him to sign it!

Bloggers Wanted

Hi guys!!! I guess you have seen that this blog has two special features where guest bloggers post on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These posts are known as “If you liked this, then read that” and “Shelf we get to know…”
The dynamic for “If you liked this, then read that” is to do a book recommendation based on a TV series or a Movie (from the big or small screen, it doesn’t matter) so that people that aren’t normally interested in reading may get a chance to shake things up a little with a book.
Rules for “If you liked this, then read that”
·         No spoilers
·     Please tell the readers why you think they will like/hate this book compared to their visual counterpart.
·         Give the book info:
o   ISBN-13
o   Genre
o   Is it part of a series??
o   When it came out
o    Who published it
·         No cursing
·         No erotica books
·         Be respectful with the comments your post receives, all disrespectful comments are deleted.
·         Send your guest post a week ahead or say you cannot do it.
·         Have fun with it!
The other guest blogger feature is “Shelf we get to know…” a space where we can get to know the blogger behind the book recommendation. A spot where you and your blog will be featured in the form an interview so people can get to know you both a little better.
If you would like to participate or would like more information please let me know by filling the form below.

Shelf we get to know Robyn from Robyn Leanne Fairytales and Folklore

1- If you knew you were getting amnesia and you could leave yourself a note to re-read just one book or series which one would it be?
I mentioned this series in the guest post I did for Lil a few days ago but The Grey Wolf Series by Quinn Loftis has got to be one of my favourite of all time. It’s the only series I have given every book 5 stars (I think), and it's also one of the only series to make me actually laugh out loud.

2- What has been the review that you've had the most fun writing?
Definitely my review for Amy A. Bartol’s Incendiary (Premonition Series Book 5). I had waited for the book for so long and read it in one sitting (I paid for it the next day at work). I was trying so hard not to completely, biasly gush about it and re-wrote it a few times, but in the end just gave up and let it out!
Incendiary by Amy A. Bartol

3- Tell us a little bit about your book crush, literary significant other or how ever you wish to call it ;)
Right now, its Xavier from Incendiary but in the last year or so I’ve majorly crushed on Travis Maddox (Beautiful Disaster, Jamie McGuire) and Jake Wethers (The Mighty Storm, Samantha Towle). I wouldn't say no to a bit of Gideon Cross, either!

4- Tell us what ,in your opinion, sets your blog apart from the others
My blog is more just a place for me to document what I’ve read and to help out aspiring authors by reading and writing about their work. I think a lot of bloggers have got too caught up in the ‘meme culture’ that's happening at the moment. There are one or two memes that i’ll take part in like ‘Its Monday! What are you reading?’, but not because I want the traffic, more because I want to share what I’m reading and see what everyone else is, too!

5- Can you tell us a little about your blog schedule? what can we expect to see in your blog during the week.
I haven’t been blogging to too long but I tend to get out a review a week, providing I’m reading something I’m allowed to review, I’ve been reading a lot of drafts at the moment. I’ll do a meme if I’ve got something to share and sometimes I’ll get a post up about what I’m doing. I don't have a set schedule as such, just post up about what i’m reading or writing at the time.

6- Do you eat when you read? if so tell us a little about what snacks you like to have.
Ha I like this question. When I get stuck in a book, I really get stuck in. As in, I won't put it down for any reason. Sometimes I’ll just forget to eat in general (I do this a lot when I get on a writing roll) but most of the time I’ll sit with my dinner on my lap and my book in my face. It’s terrible. I don’t tend to snack in general so if I do eat, it'll be a full plate of food, which will go cold most of the time because I’ve forgotten about it. Oh, I do drink a lot of tea and coffee when I’m reading though. I force myself to go and make one periodically, just to give my eyes a break.

7- Tell us about the most random character you have ever read. Did you love the character or hated it?
I recently read The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, and theres a character in that called Zeke who I really disliked. Actually, I disliked Allie quite a lot too, which is a shame because the storyline was fantastic. I felt like Zeke was such a strange character to add in. The first half of the book was completely different from the second because of his addition and I didn’t like that at all.

8- Favorite and least favorite thing about blogging
Favourite thing is probably being able to get everything out of my head and to have them read by an audience that really appreciates the genre and shares my passion for reading and writing. It’s also very cool to get talking to a lot of authors and aspiring writers, to me thats what this is all about.
Least favourite thing... is a tricky one. Theres nothing I particularly dislike about blogging, except maybe what I just mentioned about memes, I’ve seen a lot of blogs that are purely meme’s, it’s quite irritating.

9- Most emotional or passionate review.
Probably this one of Surrender (The Ferryman and the Flame, Book 1)  by Rhiannon Paille. I felt like I was saying ‘This is GREAT and this bit is GREAT and this bit is even GREATER!’. It’s a fab book, hard not to gush!
Surrender by Rhiannon Paille

10- Have you ever met any of your favorite authors? If so, could you please share your experience.
Noo I haven’t! Rhiannon Paille added me as a friend on Facebook which I was pretty chuffed with and theres a few that I talk to on Twitter occasionally. It seems like a lot of authors are US based and I’m in the UK so I can’t go to conferences or anything to meet people :(

Shelf We Get to Know Crystal from Get Lost in Fiction

1- If you knew you were getting amnesia and you could leave yourself a note to re-read just one book or series which one would it be?
Wow, way to hit me the hardest question first. Haha!! The series I would read would have to be the Harry Potter series. The reason for that is because I grew up with this series. When they were 12 so was I, so I could relate to it all, besides the being magical part!

2- What has been the review that you've had the most fun writing?
That review would Lies Beneath by Anne Brown, because I was so passionate while writing it. I loved that book so much. I mean there were mermaids, forbidden love, mystery; I could go all night talking about this book.  The cliffhanger alone had me going crazy during my review. Also I had just started my blog and this was one of the first reviews  so I can look back and see how much I've grown and that’s pretty cool.

3- Tell us a little bit about your book crush, literary significant other or however you wish to call it ;)
I have two book crushes because I can’t narrow it down. If you would have asked me this question last month the answers would have been so different, but since then I've read two books with characters that I completely fell in love with. My first Pick is Will from The Angelfire Series! It’s something completely sexy about a man with tattoos that holds a sword and kills reapers. Plus He has loved Ellie for over 700 years .That shows a deep love and dedication. My Second choice is Jude from Nicole Williams Crash series. He is the bad boy, he’s been to jail, he fights all the time, but he loves Lucy so much. He is willing to get into more trouble for her and that’s the sweetest, craziest thing ever. I would love to have both of these boys in my life!

4- Tell us what in your opinion sets your blog apart from the others
Hmmm, that’s a tough one! Something that sets my blog apart from others you say? I really don’t know, maybe my humor. I try to make my reviews have some sort of bright spot where you laugh out loud.

5- Can you tell us a little about your blog schedule? What can we expect to see in your blog during the week.
My blog schedule is SUPER random. I’m going to school and working and I try to post regularly put sometimes I forget so my poor blog gets the short end of the stick. But when I’m having a good week, I try to post two reviews one on Monday and the other on Friday. In between those I do the Teaser Tuesday, Waiting on Wednesday, and forward Friday (on Thursday). Then a Sunday post to conclude the week.

6- Do you eat when you read? if so tell us a little about what snacks you like to have.
My snacks depend on my schedule. If I’m on campus it’s a yogurt or some fruit that I pack for my between class snack. If I’m in my apartment it’s just tea, I’m completely addicted to it. Between my roommate and I probably have like 15 different flavors in our apartment at one time!

7- Tell us about the most random character you have ever read. Did you love the character or hated it?
LUNA LOVEGOOD!!! I don’t know why but I love this character. I feel like she embodies everything that I want to be. She could care less about what anyone has to say about her, she does her own thing.  When people call her Loony it goes over her head. I wish I was as fearless as she is, to have the courage to believe and act the way I want to, not the way society dictates how I should be, in order to be sane.

8- favorite and least favorite thing about blogging
Favorite thing is meeting new people! Before starting my blog I would always talk about the latest books I read with my friends that basically just nodded their head to get me to shut up. Now I have lots of friends that actually love books and will listen to what I have to say and will fan girl over their favorite authors with me.

My least favorite thing about blogging is the anxiety that comes with it. I’m always thinking what can I do to make my blog better, is my review to long, is it too short, will people actually read this, etc…   I take everything to the extreme so I cause stress in situations that short me stress free.

9- Most emotional or passionate review.
Pushing the limits by Katie Mcgarry! That book had my feelings going completely crazy. I loved all of the characters, they were very relatable, and their stories were completely unique and heart-wrenching.  It’s just something about flawed character’s that suck you and doesn’t release you until the bitter end.
Pushing the limits took me on an emotional rollercoaster and had me crying most of the time, and when right when I loved the story, it ends. Just like that. And I still want more Noah and Echo!! Sequel please!

10- Have you ever met any of your favorite authors? If so, could you please share your experience?
Funny you should mention this, because I’m going to my first book signing on February 8th!! Marissa Marr will be in Irving Texas on that day and I’m sooooooo excited!! I’m probably going to go fangirl crazy and I can’t wait to get my book signed and maybe one for someone else if that’s allowed.

Shelf We Get to Know Shaft from Shaft's Words

1- If you knew you were getting amnesia and you could leave yourself a note to re-read just one book or series which one would it be?
It would have to be the Ranger’s Apprentice series. I had been cranking through books quite happily but I found that nearly all the YA books I got recommended or found through browsing but 99.9% of them had female protagonists, I certainly don’t have a problem with female leads but it would be nice to occasionally have stories with male leads so when I found Ranger’s Apprentice by John Flanagan I was immediately intrigued. The story reminds me in a way of the radio serials I listen to on Old Time Radio it is a example of classic storytelling and I can’t recommend it enough.

2- What has been the review that you've had the most fun writing?
The reason I had a lot of fun writing this was because I could remember the time before reading the first book in the Morganville Vampires series when I would see the various books come up on Amazon or other popular online shops and roll my eyes at yet ‘another vampire book’. Now I can chide myself over wasting so much time when I could have started reading those books even earlier.

3- Tell us a little bit about your book crush, literary significant other or however you wish to call it ;)
Stevie Rae from the House Of Night Series by PC & Kristin Cast as soon as I started reading through Marked (1st in the series) she had a special effect on me, Stevie Rae is Zoey’s (the protagonist) best friend and just this positive ball of energy who it is almost impossible to depress. She also has this cute habit of absolutely refusing to swear no matter what. And last but by no means least is her simultaneously adorable and sexy Oklahoma twang. This last fact was probably helped by the fact that I have the audiobooks.

4- Tell us what in your opinion sets your blog apart from the others
My blog isn’t primarily a book blog I like to think of it more as a review blog. I will however sign up to book blog related contests and activities because this blog has a lot in common with them. For instance I signed up to the Soul Screamer and Morganville Vampires challenges because those are two series I follow very closely I was even lucky enough this in 2012 to go to a Rachel Caine book signing for Black Dawn here in the UK.

Recently I have been writing a lot about my experiences in something called the Work Programme which is this thing in the UK where private companies try to help the unemployed find work or so they claim. It is something I feel strongly about as well as in the past having a very negative experience with the provider I am assigned to which involved bullying. So if you were to come to my blog regularly you will probably see posts about that come up in the days following an interview where I have attended the Work Programme I find it can serve to inform other people going through the same sort of problems or people who might otherwise have a low opinion of the unemployed.

5- Can you tell us a little about your blog schedule? What can we expect to see in your blog during the week.
It really depends on real life constraints like recently I had 3 job interviews in less than a week and between the studying up on the organizations and the job descriptions and then the traveling to and from the interviews I felt much too wiped out to think of anything clever to write. Generally though I tend to try to write a book review for a book after I have read it, ongoing TV reviews and articles suggesting what might be worth watching and then very occasionally I might update people on all things Azeroth when I talk about gaming.
The things you are most likely to see on my blog though are book and TV reviews.

6- Do you eat when you read? if so tell us a little about what snacks you like to have.
Sometimes, I find that I tend to read on the move like on trains or buses so if I am snacking it is usually something that isn’t going to make a mess. My two favorite snacks would have to be Starburst and Skittles both the Sour types, I definitely have a sweet tooth.

7- Tell us about the most random character you have ever read. Did you love the character or hated it?
Myrnin from Morganville Vampires has to be the most random character that I have ever read about. He brings a steam punk aesthetic to an urban fantasy story and his character is just so full of energy and frenetic. The best thing about him is you can see the good and bad in the character, you see the remorseless killer and then you see his softer side which are honestly surprised is actually there.

8- Favorite and least favorite thing about blogging
My favorite thing about blogging is meeting people who are interested in what I am writing about. Because my blog is not a book blog I feel I can’t participate in a lot of interesting events that I would otherwise want to but at the same time I am happy with the flexibility of my blogging which keeps me interested most of the time.

My least favorite part about is when blogger’s block hits and I am sitting there trying my hardest to come up with something to write about, those times when it is not a review or my thoughts on a show or movie but something like commenting about a news story which is why you will rarely see things like that on my blog. I would tend to comment more about current events on Twitter nowadays.

9- Most emotional or passionate review.
Soul Screamers, I always had a very strange relationship with that book. The first four books had left me with no love for Kaylee. I liked the series itself but her decisions always left me wondering why as well as some of the decisions made by the protagonists as a group.
It was only after reading If I Die that I truly begun to understand Kaylee I think and that definitely changed how I felt about the book as a whole. So I think that is what made it more emotional than most book reviews where I knew before reading the book how I would likely
feel about it.

10- Have you ever met any of your favorite authors? If so, could you please share your experience.
For the launch of Black Dawn by Rachel Caine I was lucky enough to be able to go to a signing event in London where I got to meet her. I was so flustered I was not able to properly tell her how awesome a character Claire Danvers is, I could only get my book signed and take a couple pictures. This brings me onto the distinct lack of appearance dates for popular authors in the UK, I remember Alyson Noel came over for a week and did nothing but closed events and school events I am certainly not blaming her as this sort of thing comes down to the publishers but I feel all too often that the UK gets a raw deal on these things.
