You know the
problem with that is deciding if I can choose a great enough series over just
one book. I’m thinking series would make the most sense right? More books to
enjoy but what if they aren’t good enough? I mean I love the Percy Jackson
books but when I read them a second time I feel like it isn’t as funny as the
first time. I would be clinging on to these books that give me a piece of
myself I can’t remember so I would be reading them again and again looking for
a hidden meaning or something. It has to be readable over and over again. I
would like to say The Hunger Games Trilogy but I’m also leaning toward one of
my top favorite books: A Week in the Woods by Andrew Clements. I think I will
pick A Week in the Woods because if I were to look for a hidden meaning in
there I would see how much I would want nature and hiking and all that fun
stuff to be a part of my new life. (I feel like I overthought that.)
2- What has been the review that you've had the most fun writing?
I’ve got to say that the most recent review I’ve written that I
absolutely loved writing is How Not to Be Popular by Jennifer Ziegler. It is
another one of my favorite books that has a sad side to it if you really think
about it but it’s mostly about being true to yourself. It has my favorite
fictional boyfriend in there so that’s a plus. I loved thinking about him again
as well as the main character, Maggie. Remembering all the outlandish clothes
Maggie would come up with was another fun part of writing the review. This is
one of those books that I want to tell everyone about so it was even more of a
joy writing and sharing this book with everyone than most books I’ve reviewed.
3- Tell us a little bit about your book crush, literary
significant other or however you
wish to call it ;)
I guess we are
getting back to my favorite fictional boyfriend. Jack. How I melt whenever I
think about him. He’s a goody-two-shoes but I love that about him. I would like
to think that other girl’s and me that like some bad boys in books really want
a gentleman in their lives. That’s how I see Jack. He’s the fictional person I
want to be real the most. If he was a reader I would just die.
4- Tell us what in your opinion sets your blog apart from the
others
Aw! I think all
blogs have their own thing going on even if they review the same things. Every
blogger contributes to the world of books and knowledge about those books.
Saying that - I like reading and reviewing anything that piques my interest. So
I’ll be more eclectic with my reading. I will review Adult, YA, Middle Grade,
and Children’s books. Sometimes I just get in a type of mood with one of the genres
so it looks like I review only one age group of book but then I’ll switch it up
when I find a great book that is targeted to a different age group. I’ll also
review any genre that I can get into. It all depends on what I get to discover
on other blogs and Goodreads.
5- Can you tell us a little about your blog schedule? What can we expect to see in your blog during the
week.
Every week I do one meme post:
“It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?” so I can recap what’s been going on with
me reading wise and maybe about my personal life. It’s a nice way to tell
what’s going on and what books I’ve been able to find from other sources. I’ll
have around three or four reviews most
of the time. I’m also trying to incorporate just fun posts that have to do with
themes of books I’ve read. There will be around two of those if I can help it.
6- Do you eat when you read? if so tell us a little about what
snacks you like to have.
I don’t usually eat and read
except when I cannot put a book down. I’ll eat meals while reading if I have
to. With the Harry Potter series this was a must. If I were to imagine my
perfect snack I would have to say… cake! Strawberry cake and a book? Paradise.
7- Tell us about the most random character you have ever read.
Did you love the character or
hated it?
Hmm… the first
person that pops into my head is Critter from Jump by Elisa Carbone. He escaped
from a mental institution and catches a ride on an adventure with a girl named
P.K. He’s pretty much fearless. He sees auras/moods. He’s really different but
I enjoyed that about him. He’s not your run-of-the-mill character. The book is
about rock climbing so the book in itself is very different in a good way.
8- Favorite and least favorite thing about blogging
My favorite thing
about blogging has to be interacting with other bloggers. I love reading and
writing reviews but it wouldn’t be as fun if I didn’t have others with the same
interests to talk about the books I’ve read or books I’ve yet to discover.
9- Most emotional or passionate review.
That’s going to have to go to How Not to Be Popular again. It’s a
review where I felt the most passionate about the characters. Maggie is such a
down to earth and relatable character and Jack is a sweetheart. Even the minor
characters were described really well. The plot of course is pretty dear to my
heart. I mean this book showcases outcasts and describes them in such a way
where they are the real cool crowd. I
love that. Link on question #2
10- Have you ever met any of your favorite authors? If so, could
you please share your experience.
Unfortunately not. One
of my favorite authors, Robert Cormier, passed away years ago before I even got
to read one of his books. He’s the genius that created The Chocolate War, I am
the Cheese, and We All Fall Down. If I could
get to meet any author it would have to be Rick Riordan. I need to know what he
plans for the Norse God series and how he came up with the awesomeness that is
Percy Jackson.
Thanks
for the interview! It was fun (:
