Each fighter enters by a reason be it avoiding being a breeding vessel like Aya, trying to figure out why the daimon you love turned her back at you and find a way to make her see reason like Belias or like Kaleb who is in the lowest class there is and will do anything he can to protect his pack and keep Z safe.
Mallory is a human girl that craves normal like no other, but ever since her wizard adoptive father stole from the most powerful Daimon alive he has been on the run ever since and moving from one city to the next has been something Mallory thought she was used to until she meets a guy she just feels drawn to but she doesn't want to bring him into the type of world she lives in a world where she trains with guns for the opportunity to survive an attack by daimons, now if only she could find a way for her father to return what he stole she might have a chance to have the normal teenage experience, to bad  she knows that that will never happen.
Review
I don't know why I hadn't heard of Melissa Marr, I must have been hiding under a rock or something, but now that we have found each other you guys can be certain that you will be seeing more about her books around this blog.
This book brings you a story told by different characters, each time the story focuses on one of them we see the story become more complex and the universe in which it all takes place expand.
This book enchants you whit what each character has to say, how they view their world and what secrets are they hiding from us and from each other, how all the players are going to come together and how are they important to the story.
One thing for which I'm really grateful is that Melissa Marr reminds us the ages of the main characters, most of them around 18 years old, because certain characters give a feel that they are older then 18, maybe mid twenty's at times, the way they where raised and their past lets you know that they had to grow up fast, but they are so well written that you will need a reminder of their age.
This is a dynamic and fun book and well packed with a little bit for everyone from the action of the fights, a splash of romance, really interesting characters and unexpected twist and turns.

  1. Sounds really good! Melissa Marr's books haven't been my favorites in
the past, but I like the sound of this one-- and the cover. Great
review, and excellent job writing well about what sounds like a really
    complex plot. :)
