Synopsis
Creatures & Caverns was all he really cared about, everything else in his life was a mess. His parents are dating their divorced lawyers, his brother is a "rock star" abusing alcohol and god knows what else, and all of them are ganging out on him for not having any real friends.
Perry doesn't have any friends and he is ok with that, creating characters for Creatures & Cavers and reading the books was his favorite way to pass time. But his family don't support his C&C hobbie and think it's time he starts being with kids his own age, with the hopes that this late bloomer starts his journey into becoming a man.
Little do they all know that camp Whisiska Lake will have more to give Perry then he could ever dream off.
Review
Here is the thing, if this book was the first part of the series then this book would have been an amazing prelude of things to come, question to be answered, epic adventures we are yet to read and shifting changes between dimension that makes it anyone's guess. The combination of dimension is fascinating not because the story jumps between worlds no, it's because of the explanations and the connections they keep between each other that could make a story of it's own.
But the sad sad truth is that this book is a stand alone,  it leaves the reader short to something wonderful unresolved things and with a lot of question that need answers,  a stand alone this book may be a waste of time, it gives you more then one world where the story develops and becomes complex, rich in details and a mysterious connection that adds a little something to the story.
Then as you finish the book you will see that there are a lot of things unanswered, faith of characters undefined and with no damn answer into why it was so important to save a princess that makes no sense in the structure of the world of the other normals. To cut it short this book as stand alone may be one you want to stay away.
Anything good I have to say about this book is sadly overshadowed by the fact that we are left with not enough answers and an ending that promises more adventures then the author was going to deliver.
By the way if you are wondering where I got the information of The Other Normals being a stand alone, I go it from the author himself:
