Feature & Follow on a Monday

Q: What writing device or trick most irritates you when reading a book? For example, if an author employs an omnipotent narrator that is sometimes considered bad form.
Honestly, I hate it when a story doesn't flow, an author can try many things but if it feels like it's something that the character(s) would never do then you loose me. A love triangle or an unexpected move from a character maybe betrayal or a twist, if it feels like it belongs in the story and that it flows with what we have learned I have no problem, but when it doesn't it disrupts the harmony in the book and I tend to enjoy the book less.
