Synopsis
When Liz and Michael met there was an instant attraction, but where it would all lead to they could have never guessed.
A little time alone with a boy in beach should be safe enough right? Well not so much when that cute boy turns out to be a vampire and you his dinner. Now Liz must be brought into judgement by the council to see if she the victim of a vamp-meal gone wrong is worthy of joining the vampire society,.
The consequences that Michael actions unravel will lead the vampire nation to both its downfall and rebirth, but as they say the journey is the best part of every story.
Review
Ok, this story and I have this little issue that I have no idea how to fix, you see there are 4 main parts of the book that I feel are the pillars of the story, but there is a lot in the way of going from one to another, all those things in between make sense however they drag the story along.
This story is unique, yet it feels like its such a big world to swallow that you may see characters pop in and out of action, from having dialogs to the narrator summarizing everything that was said, but again this is a consequence of how big this world is and the many thing that are happening.
A thing I loved where the layers to this story, we have a love story, war, paranormal politics, action, women that don't wait to be rescued, witches, vampires and other things I won't say because I do not wish spoil you this story.
The fact that vampires are trying to re-claim their humanity and fight against the darkness that is within their nature intrigued me and pulled me even further into the story, Athena and Gregorio are strong secondary characters that support her. Even though Michael is a good guy he comes along sometimes as a weak character, considering that he is Liz's love interest.
This book has some surprises and will make you try and guess what comes next. This is an interesting vampire story with a fresh new twist.
