The moment she got hit by lighting while moving an antenna on her trailer house so that her mother could see Oprah or something Allie's world changed for ever, now bound with telekinetic powers and a hippy guardian from beyond the grave that gives her trials she must overcome and re-learn who she can trust.

Review
Allie feels real and she really is the strong suit of this book, but there is something missing, it's not in the originality department, but it's more in the weird mix in the story, it's as if there where two stories happening at the same time, one of them you kinda forget about it but when the main story is getting somewhere the second one comes and shakes up all the flow of the story.
Even though things in the story moved kinda fast, the narration made it feel more like "sit down and enjoy the scenery", it was a weird and good combination and it fits perfectly with this story.
I liked that even though Fey isn't a good role model or a mother, Allie has someone to look up to and it makes you want to keep reading more about her.
