Synopsis
Meet Siodhachan Ó Suileabháin, now a days known as Attikus O'Sullivan owner of a small bookstore that sells occult books, dog owner and... oh yeah the last of the druids. Now resides in Tempe Arizona where he lives a peaceful life until his old foe Aenghus Óg celtic god of love finds him. Now he's put a price on Attikus head and if all things fail Aenghus Óg will take care of things himself.
Attikus will not go down with out a fight and for that he will need the help of his vampire and werewolf layers, the Celtic goddes of dead a.k.a. the Morigan and a sexy redhead bar tender with more then meets the eye. Hopefully his friends and his Irish luck will be enough to get him out of this two thousand year old problem.
Review
I know it sounds kinda weird, but think of it as when people talk about comics it doesn't need to make sense when spoken to be great. Attikus is a witty and lovable character and his dog Oberon will win you over with his innocence, charm, great sense of humor and his geeky side; I know of no other dog who can quote star trek, star wars and make Cartman impersonations. The only thing that complicated this book for me a little was my lack of knowledge on Celtic mythology but its something that was easily solved (thank you Wikipedia).
The story is quick paced, exciting, action packed and lots of fun to read. From the moment I read the dedication page I thought maybe i stumbled into something good and I wasnt disappointed it's the best book I've read this year and I may have a little book crush. I keep this review small and simple because I do not wish to spoil anything and hope that if you decide to read it you can enjoy it completely. The only thing left for me to say is run to the bookstore and get your copy I assure you, you wont be disappointed.
