{Pick a Pic} Books you've been afraid to read

Hi guys and welcome to this month’s edition of Pick a Pic, a place where readers get to vote on a book they would want you to review and for you to get rid of a book from the TBR list of books you’ve already bought.
This monthly meme works fairly simple:
Week 1: present the books based this month’s theme.
Week 2: Let your readers know who won.
Week 3: Read the book.
Week 4: Present your review to your readers.
Or at least that is the original intention for this meme.
This month’s theme is “Books you've been afraid to read” we’ve all been there buying a book that we thought that if we bought it and saw it judging us from out bookshelf silently saying “you promised to read and love me” that it will get you into gear and that book would be out of your TBR list and into your Read pile.
Here are my nominees:
The Fault is in our Stars by John Green, I know this book is really popular and has a lot of people jumping in the Green wagon, yet… the fact that I know that this book will have most likely make me crying at the end makes me weary of it and that is why I haven’t read… well actually listened to it, got an audio book thinking it would make things easier.

Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi, this might sound weird to you but ever since Destroy Me I’ve been waiting for this book and the famous chapter 62. I’ve wanted to go into what I call a book hibernation, which is looking yourself in with your book, no distractions no social engagements nothing that can get in the way of your reading agenda.
And yet that is not the reason I am afraid, I am afraid this book will not live to the expectations of all the fans that are rooting for the series, that in some way the Warner magic that makes me go gaga for this series will be lost and it’s charmed turned off, I know drama much, but that is the way this book makes me feel.

{Pick a Pic} Pretty Covers

Ok guys today is the day, we start Pick a Pic here in Forget About TV, Grab a Book! First let’s all be aware of what we are getting ourselves into.
Pick a Pic has a “theme” or “keyword” which will be different every month.  Based on the keyword or theme you will select from 2 to 5 books and will take a picture and post it on your blog as your pick, the book you will read will be based on your followers votes.
Pick a Pic will share the new theme the first Thursday of each month which means that if you want your review to be shared on this blog you have to submit a week before the new theme is released.
By sharing your post I mean that there will be a list where you can put your review and so everyone that stops by may click on it and get directed to your page.
I suggest you finish counting votes a week after you post the picture of your choices and would also like you to keep in mind that this meme is a way for you to get read of books on your TBR pile that for some reason you haven’t read.
If you would like to suggest a theme for next month please leave a message below, you will have credit for giving the theme on the next edition of Pick a Pic.
This month’s theme is: Books in your TBR pile that have a pretty cover.
Here is my selection:

Smart girls get what they want by Sarah Strohmeyer
Witch Season: Summer & Fall by Jeff Mariotte
Mind Games by Kiersten White

Let us all know what your selection is by putting your blog and url to the Pick a Pic link in the inLinkz and please look and vote at others picks.
I hope you like this meme and do hope to hear from you guys and your picks.

Want to get read of those extra books on your TBR list???

This new meme has been running in my head for a little while, “Pick a pic” is a meme that will officially start next Thursday. This meme is for anyone that has ever wanted to get rid of the growing pile of books in your TBR list, especially for those that already have some of those books in their homes waiting their moment to shine and be read.
Pick a pic is very simple; it’s a form to integrate your TBR books into your reviews while giving a voice to your readers. You just need to take a picture of the books that match this months keyword, the number of books can go from 2 to 5, I think that more the 5 may be a little too much to choose from, don’t you think?
The reason why this meme has been running by my head is because the super reading marathons just don’t work for me, I am not a fast reader and I read depending on the pace the book is setting.
You might be wondering why a monthly meme? We don't see a lot of them in other blogs, so why do it like that? When taking into consideration that two weeks is too soon for a voting session from the readers, for you to read the winning book and write your review, 3 weeks seems like a good time but too irregular, a month seems to be the best option.
If you want to participate I will have everything ready for this Thursday, feel free to link your pictures in Instagram, Pintorest or anywhere that helps reach your readers.
So can I count on you for next Thursday? What do you think??? Please share your thoughts I would love to know what you think.
