{Review} Eighth Grade Bites by Heather Brewer

Series: The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod #1
Publication date: August 17, 2007
Publisher: Dutton Children's Books
ISBN-13: 9780525478119

Summary
So yeah Vladimir Tod may not look like your average eighth grader and well part of it is because he really isn't your average eighth grader, not when his mother was human but his dad a vampire. So Vladimir not only has to face up with the average thirteen year old problems like staying away from a principal that is out to get him, getting beat up by bullies, an unrequired crush and his mortal enemy... homework; he must also keep his "special diet" a secret, figure out his vamp powers and stop the increasing cravings he's been having.
As if Vlad's usual problems weren't enough there is this new substitute starts to act funny around Vlad which leads him to believe that he knows more about him than he would like him to know. The clues about his father and his origins lead the young half vampire to believe that the  mysterious Mr. Otis a.k.a. the substitute English teacher is the prime suspect on the case of his parents murder.
