Keeping
your blog up-to date and organized can be a real pain for those of us that are
organizationally challenged so when we find a tool that works for us we grab on
to it until the use brutal force, for me it was Astrid a quirky and very
functional organization app that helped me with it’s lovely mascot keep up with
the blog tours, blitz and reviews.
Sadly,
as some of you may know, Astrid was bought and killed.
Since
then I’ve been searching for a replacement, something that can help me get my
blogging life organized and where it should be.
I liked
that it made friendly reminders and adding the cute mascot in to the mix it
made my promises sound more like something I wanted to do instead of making the
blog commitments feel like work. But now Astrid is no longer with us and I can’t
find a good replacement.
Do you
guys use organization apps for your blog or day to day life? Do you have any
suggestions? How do you get your blog life organized?
I TRY to organize. But it doesn't really work out that well lol. I've pretty much gave up on it now and just go with the flow.
ReplyDeleteLast year when I did blog tours I would put the dates on Google calendar and then add soon as the tour site sent the post info I'd set it up. This year I won't be joining any tours. As for arcs, I put in a tentative date on Google calendar, but I really read it when ever I'm in the mood for that specific genre.
ReplyDeleteI use a simple calendar to keep up with blog stuff. You can use reminder features in any electronic calendar to help with organization. When signing up for new tours I check the dates and see what I have available based on already scheduled features, memes, reviews, etc. I was sad when Astrid died too but I wasn't a blogger yet so I didn't use it for that purpose.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time I use Windows Calendar and scheduling. It helps me out a lot since I've started using it. :D

That stinks - I hate when something I've grown used to gets taken away! Good luck finding a new system that will work for you. I use Google Calendar - it took my a while to embrace because I couldn't seem to find a good system. But then Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer did a post in her Blogger Tips & Tricks about how she organized her calendar. I decided to try it and it's working amazingly for me.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is that some of the other organizers are so dry and to the point that they make my blog feel like work. But it's not work and that was the part where Astrid was perfect, with the mascot alone it gave out that quirky and cute vibe that it was something I said I wanted to do, not something that I had to do.
ReplyDeleteDoes it makes sense or is it all in my head?
Aww! Sorry to hear. I've never used astrid before, but I just use a google calendar (not that I'm very good about following it, but it helps). Hope you find something to help you keep organized.
ReplyDeleteI love Kimba's tips and tricks! I don't know how that one flew under my radar but thank you for pointing it out, I will give it a try :D
ReplyDeletethank you very much Victoria :)
