Review

I feel that Kaitlin Bevis is more in tune with her characters in this book, which makes the story flow and make you guess what is Zeus thinking? How can Persephone break her promise? And other twist and turns this book takes as it develops.

In the first book it was kind of weird that they just took the Persephone story out of the Greek Mythology, but the author is adapting some of the events that are attached to Persephone's myth and bringing it to the 20th century.

I just love Kaitlin's Hades he makes the story have some eye candy for me and it is interesting the way we get to see Persephone and Hades's relationship where they try to make it work and not everything is handed to them just because they are gods.

About the author

I spent my childhood curled up with a book, and a pen. If the ending didn’t agree with me, I rewrote it. I’ve always wanted to be a writer, and I spent high school and college learning everything I could so that one day I could achieve that goal. I graduated college with my BFA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing, and am pursuing my masters at the University of Georgia.

Synopsis
The “talk” was bad enough, but how many teens get told that they’re a goddess? When her mom tells her, Persephone is sure her mother has lost her mind. It isn’t until Boreas, the god of winter, tries to abduct her that she realizes her mother was telling the truth. Hades rescues her, and in order to safely bring Persephone to the Underworld he marks her as his bride. But Boreas will stop at nothing to get Persephone. Despite her growing feelings for Hades, Persephone wants to return to the living realm. Persephone must find a way to defeat Boreas and reclaim her life.

Review
I liked the way this story takes you to explore the possiblity of life after death and how a living person how has to adapt to a lot of changes in a small time frames coups with it. Persephone is great at adapting under all the pressure that is giving to her during the book but also we see her grow and mature around this story.
The thing that really bothered me was that the author over exploited the cuts in scenes where somethings was going to be revealed by putting and accident or someone interrupting the scene, it just didn't feel natural that all those interruptions took place.

Another part that I liked was that I could really geek off with the mythology, while growing up I spent a lot of time reading myths and legends and it's books like this that make me feel like all the time I invested on reading those types as story's as a kid really pays off.

The chemistry between Persephone and Hades was good, but with characters with the personality's those two have makes me feel there was still some unexplored territory and that is really a shame.
