Shelf we get to know Helen from The Fiction Conniption

1-      If you knew you were getting amnesia and you could leave yourself a note to re-read just one book or series which one would it be?
Oh my gosh, that’s such a cool question. And so hard to answer. I think if I had the chance to get amnesia and experience another book for the first time, I would want it to be Splintered by A.G. Howard.

2-     What has been the review that you've had the most fun writing?

I think I had the most fun writing my review of Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout, mainly just because it was a book that I had so very much expected not to enjoy, and instead ended up totally joining the band wagon for that series instantly!
3-     Tell us a little bit about your book crush, literary significant other or however you wish to call it ;)

Haha! I’m quite happily married, so I’m not sure I’m totally allowed to answer this XD. That said, as far as current book crushes go, I’d probably have to go with Garrick from Losing It or Maxon from The Selection.

4-    Tell us what in your opinion sets your blog apart from the others

I think the only true thing that sets any book blog apart from others are the opinions of the blogger. The way that they deliver their opinions and the passion that they can convey for books they love.

5-     What made you start your blog?

I’ve always been a very avid reader, but I haven’t had many friends around who shared the strange obsession I have with all things bookish – so when I realized that there was this huge community of people who did nothing but talk books with each other, I had to start a blog too and get in on that!

6-    Do you eat when you read? If so tell us a little about what snacks you like to have.

I don’t eat much when I read, I can’t stand crumbs and stuff ending up in my books, or smudges getting on my ipad screen, haha.

7-     Tell us about the most random character you have ever read. Did you love the character or hated it?

Hm. I just read Paranormalcy by Kiersten White. The main character Evie has a best friend who is a mermaid, but she lives in some sort of tank and just kind of glides around somehow from within it – that was definitely the most random character I’ve read in a while. I didn’t exactly hate her, but I didn’t love her either.

8-     Please tell us in your opinion what sets a book club reading experience apart:

I’m not personally part of a formal book club right now, but what I really love to see in a book club are people who have a passion for reading, and are expressive about their thoughts surrounding a book.

9-    Most emotional or passionate review.

For me, that would be my review of Sisterhood Everlasting by Ann Brashares – that book impacted me so deeply, and had me crying constantly!
10- Have you ever met any of your favorite authors? If so, could you please share your experience?

I’ve never gotten the chance to meet any authors, but this May I’m attending my first big book event called Teen Day in Kansas City, and there will be some awesome young adult authors there doing signings so I AM SO EXCITED! :D
