Review
I am not going to lie to you from the moment I started this book there was feeling of connection, like a person you just met that you know you are going to get along. And yes I did enjoy the book it was interesting to see how the war is starting to hit Tiertyn, how such young people must now accept their destiny and play their part in a war far bigger then themselves.
Now the fact that I enjoyed this story and would like to see what the author will have install doesn't mean there weren't any flaws. There was this gap that kept you guessing, why do they send their kids to be educated for a year to Tivedon? Was it because of the Silent War? is it tradition? The fact that we didn't get an explanation bugged me to no end.
The characters where ok, but they didn't have the full impact you get when you are really feel for the character, when you worry, get angry and scared with him/her. Those are the only thing I would hope to see Ryan Shorten work for his second book.
