After last summer's encounter with D'ablo Vlad is more then ready to start a new school year, and hope for a normal life, well as normal as it can be for a half vampire half human freshmen. But Vlad must of won some sort of unlucky prize because his year will not only be spiced up by two bullies on his tail but also by the school reporter that is out to discover Vlad's deep dark secret and for the cherry on top a slayer has come to his lovely town with the unique task of destroying him.
Review
The Cronicles of Vladimir Tod have this relaxing effect on me, when I'm in this world it feels like getting into the mind of an old friend who's voice soothes you and lets you have a nice time and enjoy the ride.
Don't get me wrong this book is action packed and full of fun and suspense that fit so perfectly together that you feel that you can let yourself go and enjoy the life of Vladimir Tod.
In this book we don't just learn more about Vlad after his encounter with D'ablo last summer, but we also get to see Otis efforts to stay alive and keep his loved ones safe. We are also introduced to a new menace a mysterious slayer that is out to get our favorite half vamp and we also get to meet Joss, Henry's cousin and Vladimir's new friend in this series.
I think Joss is a great mix in Vlad's life he really shakes thing up for him during this school year and I do wish to see more Vlad - Joss interactions in the future.
This book has an element that I just adored, in most books when someone dies there is only sadness surrounding their death, but in this book they do a celebration of life, a way to spike a sad moments by decorating it with the good memories and the fun times of the one they lost. It is something not seen a lot but it was beautifully done by our auntie Heather.
