Synopsis
A terrible plague invaded the world and the vaccine that was supposed to help us finished the job, killing most of the worlds population sealed this page in history.
Now the orphan girls are sent to a school where they are taken care off, this is where Eve lives, she tries to be a good student and follow all the guidelines so that she will be able to graduate and leave to the city to get a trade. But her world shutters the night she discovers the truth behind the all-girls school that watched her grow.
Now that she knows that the future that she was promised is all a lie and that the fate that awaits her is worst than anything she could even imagine Eve runs, leaving all her friends and the world she knows behind.
Review
Eve is a great heroine, she isn't really street smart while Arden (another girl that gets away from the all-girls school) has really no problem surviving outside of the protective school, I love how natural it feels for this girl to learn to get along, the resistance, knowing and accepting one another was a part that I really enjoyed about this book.
In this world girls are told about the dangers of men and how they can only trust one, and that man is there current leader the King, so when Eve meets Caleb a boy living also outside the laws set by the King she learns that not all men are evil. Caleb is a really important part of Eve's growth during this book and the shift on her input about men.
This book is fast passed, full of interesting characters, entertaining and an easy read. There might be a tiny piece of this book that doesn't really flow with the story but that doesn't really stop you from enjoying the story. I'm looking forward to reading book 2.
