Synopsis
You had a chance to prevent it, but you choose to make more money, keep destroying our forest and contaminating our water sources, turn a blind eye when you could have stopped the ozone layer from fading so much that our best hope to survival as a species was to go live underground.
Now not only our way of living has changed but also equality is lost and now we are being categorize by how much melanin is in our skin and the genes you carry, Dark skins rule our new world and we white skins just hope to mate before the age of 18 and to never get the disease that took the life of my mother.
This is the world Eden lives in, but after being attacked by a group of pearl eradicators she is forced to leave the world she knew with her obnoxious boss Bramford and the guy that may hold the key to save humanity from dying, her father.

Review
Great story V.S. weak heroine, I think this is the best way to sumarise this book, the concept is really original and interesting, it draws you in and makes you feel you need to know more about this new world, what is happening and how past and present collide and give new hope for the future of everyone. then you meet Eden, a girl that was supposed to be smart but ends up making some really stupid decisions that you may need to take a little time out from this book to coup with the illogical actions and the reasoning behind the things that Eden does.
With all honestly I didn't like Eden until the very end of the book, and that fills me with both hope and fear that in book two she will revert to the insecure and stupid decision making Eden. I do hope she grows up as a character and starts making wiser decision for more is at stake now.
