Ile de la Paix is where Cinderella and Jack (yes, the one with the bean stock) spend their summers together, one as a tourist the other one just escaping from everyday life. When they meet they leave the real world behind, along with their true names and identity's.
After a horrible accident Cinderella is forced to leave the Ile de la Paix with out saying good bye to Jack. Years later our little Cinderella is brought back into the island, will she be able to forgive herself from what happened that faithful day she last saw Jack? Will she be able to trust herself again? and why is a certain vamp so into her going into the prince's ball?

If you are expecting evil stepsisters or an evil witch then turn around because this story doesn't work that way. For a fairy tail this story is truly fun in the way Veronica Blade plays with her characters and makes them pop out.
The only thing that bothered me was that our little Cinderella got a little to close to exasperate me with her attitude of "I can't forgive myself", I feel that following with that excuse after family and even the reader feel like she should get over it push a little our patience and could make a character that was perfectly lovable and you could connect with, with an insufferable and repetitive character. Good thing this was only a close call and Cinderella dearest never crossed that line.
When you see the story develop it has this sense of anew and it keeps you with both eyes open in wait to happens next. The style of Veronica Blade in A Bites Tale makes me curious about her other books, so please don't become so surprise if you get to see more reviews about her work on this website.
